Continuing the thread of playing a lot of new-release titles in a demo or trial setting. This weekend SEGA allowed player to engage in online sessions of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, the latest in the Sonic or SEGA series of racing titles. I played the Switch 1 version mostly in handheld. You can't go online immediately, when booting up the Network Test, you are limited to Donpa Grand Prix consisting of three tracks E-Stadium, Rainbow Garden and Water Palace, and a fourth track that includes a lap of each aforementioned tracks. During these races you are treated to some tutorials about the boost start, drifting and trick mechanics as well as the games namesake, the CrossWorlds - after finishing a lap you are given a choice between a set or random CrossWorld track, occassionally these CrossWorld sections have frenzy modifiers, like boost items that replenish after you drift, this is then followed by a final lap on the track. home
