I played Ashleigh in RaceMania once and she's right, I couldn't beat her... a lot of it comes down to track memorisation and probably choosing a balanced racer instead of Rizzo the rat.
Sims 2
We had family friends with a copy of Sims 2 on PC and when we finally got a computer good enough Megan logged hours into Sims 2 and the expansions. A lot of dating vampires, grim reapers and drowned babies if I recall correctly. Who plays it straight when there's fun to be had?
