Coffee
Big fan, in Australia we sorta consider ourselves the best the most pretentious about our coffee. The more pretentious you are, the further you stray from the classic flat white. The more casual you are, the more you probably enjoy a cappuccino. Then there's a bunch of other shit, I just drink a latte. Today's orders are all paired with names, Geraldine with the triple shot, half-caff, oat-milk, extra hot, no foam, flat white. Meanwhile, Sean latte rolls of the tongue.
AeroPress
My daily driver. It's a big plastic syringe. I like it most because you simply can not stuff it up! I roughly measure, I barely stick to the timings, but the coffee always comes out on top. Writing these instructions were harder than I thought.
I use the inverted press, which I found out a bunch of dorks on reddit are scared of burning theirselves with. I put 15 grams of coffee beans through a basic hand grinder (Rhino), run boiling water, prime the unit by placing the plunger in the unit, pull it back to (4), then put the grinds in, pour water for 10 seconds up to (1) - or 200mls, stir for 15 seconds, sit for 1 minute 30 seconds, light stir, tighten the cap with paper filter, put the cup on top of your grinder, invert or flip it so the cup is on the benchtop then you press it.
I went to Milligram in Carlton, a bloke talked about his double insulated glass had broken when he used his AeroPress, the clerk could not look less impressed (no pun intended), but I'm sure the sales commission on a $30 glass is probably worth the time, if we even do sales commission. Point is, don't force it when you don't hear air passing thorough. Take a break and then give it another press. I pair this with full cream milk from my ALDI milk frother lol.
